In our constant endeavour towards enhancing our resort and guest experience, the resort will be conducting refurbishments commencing over a 10-week period from 10 August 2023 to 10 November 2023.
The main resort work will involve replacement of roofing for Golden Cowrie Restaurant and Ocean Wing Rooms in Block 1 (48 rooms). During this time the resort will also be upgrading the Golden Cowrie outdoor terrace with replacement of tiles. During the 10-week period, Golden Cowrie Restaurant will be closed.
Furthermore, Black Marlin will be available for Adults Only dining in replacement of Golden Cowrie Restaurant.
Black Marlin Restaurant Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday
Breakfast; 7am – 11am (Adults Only 16yrs & above)
Dinner; 6pm – 10pm (Adults and Children 12yrs & above)
Black Marlin Bar Operating Hours:
Monday – Saturday; 10pm till late
Thursday, Friday, Saturday; Live Band

Extremely disappointed that we would have to find out about these renovations on Facebook! We should have been notified of impending work at the time of booking, or at the very least a direct notification via email or letter. I am sure this work was not arranged at the last minute so it would have been appropriate for all enquires could have been notified of said work and made alternative arrangements, but no, we would rather take the money and inconvenience our FULL PAYING guests! Can’t wait to have a child free breakfast in the Black Marlin Bar instead of a quiet breakfast overlooking the Lagoon!
So disappointed. Why didn’t they let us know this when we booked. This is my daughters wedding.
Ridiculous during the reunion. It is looking more like the Shangri La does not want to support reunions for persons coming back for 30+ years.
